Fixed That Access Denied Error

Users who reached stevejbayer.com on my new host would have got a access denied. That happened during the file transfer from my old host to the new host.

The new host runs the latest version of php which is 5.2.1 (as of the date of the site transfer) and there have been issues with transferring drupal from servers with the older version of php to servers with the newer version of php.

I just had to swap out a session.inc file with a backup file of the same for things to get working again. Users who had a similar problem also used this method: http://drupal.org/node/134505. I tried that, it didn't work at first so I cleared the cache tables in the database and tried that again. No success so I then swapped out session.inc (I got that idea from this thread: http://drupal.org/node/20397#comment-111175) and replaced it with a back up and things work fine now.

The reason it took me a while to notice the access error is because while my current ISP has excellent uptime, their DNS servers were pointing to stevejbayer.com on my old host so I had write this post from my back up connection (which is a CDMA connection from another ISP. ) My apologies for any misunderstandings caused by the access deny message.

Edit: Well now that things are fixed my new ISP (after an email request) has updated their DNS to point to the new host for stevejbayer.com.

The emphasis on “thinking” makes the point that design is more than a pretty face: [...]
