Google Chrome

Sounds like Google really is going to release its own Browser called Google Chrome.

Based on the Web Comic, it seems it could accomplish what Flock set out to achieve with the addition of improved Java script performance (Firefox 3.1 is due out year end with the promise of faster Java script rendering as well.)

While Flock is tried to enhance everything on the UI level, things did get a bit cluttered whereas Google Chrome reduces the amount of UI items needed while greatly improving things under the hood. V8 (a new java script engine that while built for Google chrome can be used in other browsers as well) sounds like (is yet to be seen in action) the next AJAX in terms of making web pages run more more akin to a desktop application.

Edit:
Seems like my comparison with flock was a first impression. After reading more into Google Chrome, it seems chrome is geared towards mobile handsets similar to the I-Phone and thin client internet devices similar to the Nintendo wii which runs Opera as its web browser.

The lack of general productivity plug ins such as google toolbar indicates that Chrome main focus would not be the desktop browser market. I don't see myself giving up Firefox anytime soon on a device with a keyboard but I do look forward to using chrome on a mobile phone, touch screen device and/or home entertainment device.

About 6 months back I bought the ASUS EEE 701 with windows xp home (starter edition doesn't support networking) and a gig of RAM.

A month or 2 ago the 1000H in arrived in India and if I were to buy a new net book (ultra portable computer with no CD or DVD drive but with wireless and LAN connectivity, USB ports, monitor port and a SDHC memory card reader) it would be the ASUS EEE 1000H since its future proof as the following article proves it runs Windows 7 (the next version of windows to be released) quite well:
